Chapter 15 - The Woman Who Survived The Poison

A year later, I returned to the dining room.

The table was gone.

The crystal glasses were gone.

The room looked smaller.

Funny how places changed when you stopped being afraid of them.

Maria stood beside me.

"You okay?"

I smiled.

"Yes."

And this time, it was true.

My daughter slept upstairs.

Safe.

Healthy.

Loved.

I touched the marble floor where the milk had spilled.

That night, I thought I was losing everything.

My marriage.

My family.

My future.

But I gained something I never had before.

My own voice.

Daniel never asked me to forget.

He never asked me to pretend.

Some wounds don't disappear.

They become reminders.

He visits our daughter.

He helps.

He tries.

And maybe one day, I will forgive him completely.

Maybe.

But forgiveness is not forgetting.

It is remembering...

And choosing not to let the pain control you.

They thought a pregnant woman was easy to break.

They thought love made me weak.

They were wrong.

May you like

Love didn't save me.

I saved myself.
