Chapter 5 - The Wedding Trap
Julian continued planning the wedding.
Bianca became more confident.
She chose flowers.
Champagne.
A cathedral.
Three hundred guests.
Julian quietly replaced half the security staff with investigators.
Martha moved to a secure guesthouse but publicly remained “ill.”
Bianca visited her carrying soup.
The bowl was confiscated afterward.
It contained the same sedative.
Bianca was trying again.
Julian wanted her arrested immediately.
Detective Nora Beckett told him to wait.
“We have attempted poisoning evidence.”
“But if Raymond is directing this, arresting Bianca warns him.”
Julian hated the logic.
Then Bianca made her next move.
She announced to the press that Martha had dementia.
Julian watched his mother’s dignity become a headline.
Martha squeezed his hand.
“Let her talk.”
“She’s building the rope.”
At midnight, an anonymous email arrived.
Attached was a photograph of Julian’s father, Henry Hale, standing beside Raymond and a much younger Bianca.
The photograph was dated twelve years earlier.
