Chapter 11 - Beneath the Chapel
The cathedral had belonged to the Hale family foundation for generations.
Henry hid documents in a crypt beneath a private chapel.
Bianca knew because Raymond told her.
Julian arrived with police.
Smoke already filled the lower corridor.
Bianca had started a fire.
Martha ignored orders and followed Julian inside.
They found Bianca kneeling beside a metal box.
Inside were letters from Celeste.
Bank records.
Henry’s confession.
Henry admitted the affair.
He admitted failing to defend Celeste when Raymond framed her.
He also documented Raymond’s embezzlement.
Bianca read the confession while flames spread.
Her entire revenge story collapsed.
“My mother died because of him.”
Julian answered.
“My father failed her.”
“But Raymond framed her.”
Bianca shook her head.
“No.”
She could not accept it.
Because if Raymond had lied, then every terrible thing she had done for revenge had been built on another man’s manipulation.
The ceiling cracked.
Julian reached for her.
Bianca stepped backward into smoke.
