Chapter 2 - The Woman With Two Faces

Julian did not confront Bianca again.
He did something she never expected.
He apologized.
“I panicked.”
Bianca stared at him.
Then tears appeared.
Perfect tears.
“I would never hurt Martha.”
Julian embraced her while looking over her shoulder at Mateo.
The performance had begun.
Bianca moved back into the mansion believing she had survived.
Martha hated the plan.
“You’re still marrying her?”
“Pretending to.”
Martha revealed that Bianca had been controlling her medication for six weeks.
She had also arranged appointments with neurologist Dr. Evan Cole.
Cole diagnosed “early cognitive decline.”
Martha insisted she had never forgotten anything important.
Julian obtained her records.
Several symptoms listed in the file had never occurred.
Wandering.
Hallucinations.
Aggression.
Then he found a document authorizing Bianca to make medical decisions after the wedding if Julian was unavailable.
His signature appeared at the bottom.
It was excellent.
It was also forged.
Julian called the wedding planner.
“Move the wedding forward.”
Bianca nearly screamed with happiness.
“Three weeks?”
Julian smiled.
“Why wait?”
That night, Martha found a small black device taped beneath her bed.
Mateo identified it as an audio transmitter.
