Chapter 10 - The Bullet
Mateo shoved Julian aside.
The bullet struck his shoulder.
Nora’s team stormed the warehouse.
Bianca ran.
Martha kicked the gun away before Bianca reached it.
At seventy-eight, she saved her son with one movement.
Bianca escaped through a loading tunnel.
Raymond survived.
Barely.
At the hospital, he demanded immunity.
Nora laughed.
“You planned two murders.”
Raymond offered something larger.
Evidence that Henry Hale’s death seven years earlier had not been natural.
Julian’s father supposedly died from a stroke.
Raymond claimed Bianca’s mother, Celeste, had discovered financial crimes before her death.
Henry later found her evidence.
Raymond poisoned him slowly to prevent exposure.
Julian stared through the glass at his uncle.
“How many people did you destroy?”
Raymond smiled weakly.
“As many as your father would have.”
Then he revealed where Bianca was going.
The cathedral.
