Clara began receiving anonymous gifts.
Flowers.
Jewelry.
Handwritten letters.
"To the woman who changed everything," one read.
She asked Julia to investigate.
The sender was a man named David Channing.
A reclusive billionaire who had been watching her career from afar.
"David Channing?" Clara asked.
"He owns Channing Enterprises. Construction. Real estate. He's worth more than the Sterling family ever was."
"Why is he sending me gifts?"
Julia smiled.
"He wants to meet you."
"I think he's interested in more than a business partnership."
Clara studied the letter.
