Chapter 14 - The Investigation
The investigator returned with surprising findings.
Clara's mother hadn't died of cancer alone.
There were medical records indicating she was denied treatment.
Not by Patricia.
But by the hospital itself.
A hospital owned by the Sterling family.
Patricia's eyes widened.
"Victor's family."
"Yes."
"His father owned the hospital when your mother was turned away."
Patricia smiled.
"This is what I need."
"Proof that Victor's family is just as guilty as mine."
"Proof that Clara is making a deal with the devil."
Patricia sent the records to the press.
She also forwarded them to Clara directly.
"This is what you missed when you chose Victor," she wrote.
"His family let your mother die. Just like mine did."
"I have evidence. I'll share it."
