Chapter 11 - The Fall of the Matriarch

Judge Harris frowned, his eyes dropping to the thick stack of financial documents David had just submitted to the clerk.

"Mr. Miller, those are serious allegations," the judge warned, his tone sharp as a razor.

"If you are wasting this court's time with baseless countersuits, I will hold you in contempt."

"They are not baseless, Your Honor," David replied calmly, opening his briefcase.

"Page forty-seven contains the forensic audit from First National Bank."

"It shows four hundred wire transfers directly from the trust into the Golden Nugget Casino's corporate account."

"All authorized by Eleanor Westwood's private IP address."

Eleanor’s lawyer immediately turned to look at her, his face going completely pale.

"Mrs. Westwood... is this true?" the lawyer whispered frantically.

Eleanor didn't answer. Her hands began to shake violently inside her leather gloves.

Judge Harris flipped through the pages, his expression growing darker with every passing second.

He slammed his gavel down so hard the sound vibrated through the wooden pews.

"Mrs. Westwood," Judge Harris thundered.
