CHAPTER 10: THE SUPPORT

I joined a group for single mothers called "Strong Moms United."
We met every Tuesday evening in a small community center. There were women of all ages, from all backgrounds, all going through the same struggles.
We shared our stories, our fears, our hopes.
We cried together. We laughed together. We supported each other.
One evening, a woman named Amanda shared her story. She had been in an abusive marriage for years, but had finally found the courage to leave.
"I thought I was alone," she said. "I thought no one would understand."
"You're not alone," I said. "We're all here for you."
She started crying.
"Thank you," she said. "Thank you all."
We hugged her.
And I realized that we were more than just a support group.
We were a family.
May you like
A family of women who had survived.
And we were going to help each other thrive.
