Chapter 7 - Blood in the Elevator

A loud crack echoed inside the enclosed metal box.

Julian shrieked in pain as blood burst from his nose, splattering across his expensive silk tie.

He stumbled back against the elevator wall, clutching his face in shock.

"You crazy bitch!" Julian roared, his eyes filled with rage.

He lunged forward, grabbing Olivia by her injured shoulder.

Agony exploded through Olivia’s body.

She gasped for air, but she refused to back down.

With a surge of desperation, she smashed her shoe heel directly onto Julian's foot.

Julian screamed again and dropped to his knees.

Olivia grabbed Ethan, pushing him safely behind her into the corner of the elevator.

She pulled the emergency manual lever on the control panel, triggering the secondary backup alarms.

Loud sirens began echoing down the elevator shaft.

"You think you're smart, don't you?!" Julian spat, wiping blood from his mouth as he struggled to stand up.

"Harrison Blackwell won't protect you forever!"

"He uses people like you until you're broken!"

"At least he doesn't attack children in elevators," Olivia snapped back, her voice firm despite the excruciating pain in her shoulder.

Suddenly, the heavy steel roof hatch of the elevator was violently ripped open from the outside.

A dark figure dropped down with lethal precision.

It was Harrison.

His face was terrifying, flushed with pure, demonic wrath.

Without saying a single word, Harrison grabbed Julian by the collar and slammed him brutally against the metal wall.

The impact made the entire elevator shake.

"Harrison! Wait!" Julian choked out, struggling for breath. "It was just a misunderstanding!"

Harrison’s grip tightened around Julian’s throat until Julian’s face turned purple.

"You put your hands on her," Harrison said, his voice dropping to a whisper that chilled the air.

"And you scared my son."

"Harrison, stop! You'll kill him!" Olivia shouted, grabbing Harrison's arm.

Harrison looked at Olivia.

The murderous rage in his dark gray eyes softened slightly as he saw her hand resting on his arm.

He threw Julian onto the floor like a piece of trash.

Two armed security guards dropped down from the hatch above, immediately pinning Julian to the floor with handcuffs.

Harrison stepped over Julian and pulled Olivia into his arms.

He pulled her close against his chest, holding her with a fierce, protective grip.

"Are you hurt?" Harrison asked, his voice rough with raw emotion.

"My shoulder... he grabbed it," Olivia admitted weakly against his neck.

Harrison’s body went completely rigid.

He looked down at Julian with eyes that promised complete annihilation.

"Call the chief of police," Harrison ordered his head security officer.
