Chapter 4 - Playing with Fire

That evening, the estate was quiet.

Olivia could not sleep due to the pain in her shoulder.

She walked down to the kitchen to get a glass of water.

The kitchen was dark, lit only by the moonlight filtering through the floor-to-ceiling windows.

As she poured the water, a shadow moved behind her.

Before she could scream, a large hand gently covered her mouth from behind.

"It's me," Harrison’s deep voice echoed near her ear.

His body was pressed close against her back.

Olivia could feel the intense heat radiating from him.

Her heart hammered wildly against her ribs.

Harrison slowly removed his hand from her mouth, but he didn't step back.

"You should be resting," he whispered in the dark.

"I couldn't sleep," Olivia replied, her voice barely audible. "The pain..."

Harrison reached around her and placed a small pill bottle on the marble counter.

"Stronger painkillers from my personal doctor."

"Take one."

Olivia turned around slowly to face him.

In the dim light, Harrison looked dangerously handsome.

The distant, untouchable billionaire was gone, replaced by a predator standing inches away.

"Why are you doing all this for me, Mr. Blackwell?" Olivia asked, looking directly into his eyes.

"You paid my life savings."

"You took me into your home."

"You defended me against your fiancée."

"Why?"

Harrison leaned in closer, trapping her against the edge of the kitchen counter.

"First," Harrison said softly, "don't call me Mr. Blackwell when we are alone."

"Call me Harrison."

"Second, Victoria is not my fiancée out of love."

"It is a political merger between Blackwell Media and Vance Logistics."

"And third..."

Harrison reached out, his thumb gently tracing the line of her jawline.

Olivia gasped at the warm sensation of his skin against hers.

"I don't like seeing things that belong to me being threatened," Harrison whispered.

"Are you saying I belong to you?" Olivia asked sharply, pushing back against his overwhelming dominance.

Harrison’s eyes darkened with dangerous possessiveness.

"You saved my heart when you saved my son," he said firmly.

"That makes you mine to protect."

Suddenly, the kitchen lights flashed on.

Victoria stood in the doorway, holding a glass of wine.

Her face flushed crimson with absolute fury as she saw how close Harrison was standing to Olivia.

"What is the meaning of this?!" Victoria screamed, dropping her glass.

The glass shattered across the marble tiles, echoing through the silent mansion.
