Chapter 15: The Threat Against Ethan

Lucas didn’t sleep. He sat by Ethan’s bed all night, gun on the table beside him.

“We can’t hide forever,” Jude said at dawn. “We have to hit them first.”

That afternoon, we gave the FBI everything we had—including the location of their main warehouse and the names of their top leaders.

“By tonight,” the agent said, “we’ll have enough to take down the whole operation.”

But at sunset, Ethan didn’t come back from the safe house garden where he’d been picking flowers.

We found his cap lying in the grass by the back fence. And a note pinned to it: Come alone. Or he’s gone for good.

Lucas grabbed his keys. “I’m going.”

“No,” Jude said, stepping in front of him. “They want you. If you go alone, you all die.”

“They have my son!” Lucas roared.

“Which is exactly why we do this smart,” Jude said firmly. “We follow them. We bring backup. And we don’t walk into a trap blind.”
