CHAPTER 11: THE ATTACK

The attack happened three days later.
Grace was walking home from the grocery store when a black van pulled up beside her.
Before she could react, the doors swung open, and two men grabbed her.
She screamed, but they covered her mouth and dragged her into the van.
The doors slammed shut.
The van sped away.
Grace was thrown onto the floor, her wrists bound, her heart pounding.
She had no idea where they were taking her.
But she knew who was behind it.
Vivian.
The van drove for what felt like hours. When it finally stopped, Grace was pulled out and dragged into a warehouse.
Vivian was waiting for her.
"Hello, Grace," she said. "I knew you'd be too smart to fall for my apology. So I had to come up with a different plan."
"What do you want?"
"I want you to tell Dominic to back off. To stop interfering in my business."
"Your business?"
"Your boyfriend has been destroying my family's company. And I need you to make him stop."
Grace shook her head. "I can't do that."
"Then you'll stay here until you can."
Grace looked at her.
"I'm not going to help you hurt Dominic."
Vivian sighed.
"Men," she said. "They always complicate things."
She turned to her men.
"Keep her here. Don't let her go."
She walked out of the warehouse.
Grace was alone.
And she was terrified.
But she was also determined.
She was not going to let Vivian use her to hurt Dominic.
May you like
She was going to find a way out.
Or die trying.
