Chapter 19: The Confrontation Part 2

I waited until Andrew's new company was about to launch.

Then I dropped the bomb.

I called a press conference.

Andrew was there.

So were his investors.

And Victoria.

And the entire city.

"Ladies and gentlemen," I said, "I'm here to expose a fraud."

Andrew's face went white.

"Andrew Whitmore has been stealing from me for years. He opened accounts in my name. Forged my signature. Stole twelve million dollars."

The room erupted.

"That's a lie!" Andrew shouted.

"Is it?"

I held up a stack of documents.

"These are the contracts. These are the signatures. These are the bank statements."

"You forged those!"

"I forged my own signature? That doesn't make sense."

Andrew opened his mouth.

Closed it.

His investors started whispering.

Victoria backed away.

"This isn't over," Andrew said.

"It is over."

"You can't do this to me!"

"I'm not doing anything. You did it to yourself."

I walked off the stage.

Behind me, Andrew screamed.

May you like

But I didn't listen.

Because I was done.
