Chapter 15 - The Blood That Lied

Victoria revealed that she had used Adrian just as Adrian had used everyone else.

She believed all branches of the family had failed.

Marcus hid.

Victor schemed.

Luca ran.

I built a cleaner corporate image while refusing to expose the rotten foundation.

Children were hunted because adults kept preserving the empire.

Her accusation hurt because it contained truth.

She intended to finish succession and take control long enough to dismantle the system herself.

The ledger required four active bloodline consents.

She could not complete the transfer without people in the chamber.

I told her nobody would consent under threat.

She looked toward little Emma.

The threat was obvious even without words.

Luca almost lost control.

Marcus stopped him.

"Power always tells you it only needs one more day," Marcus said to Victoria.

She rejected his warning because he had once made the same mistake.

Then little Emma stared at the ledger cover.

"Daddy says the wolf has two eyes," she said.

Two tiny wolf heads were engraved beside the silver seals.

I pressed both at once.

A hidden panel opened beneath the spine.

Inside was the original Twin Wolf Clause written by my grandfather.

The family trusts had never been designed to belong permanently to a single heir.

Any active heir could invoke dissolution when concentrated ownership threatened the bloodline.

The assets would be transferred into independent public-benefit foundations.

The family would lose control but employees, hospitals, scholarships, pensions, and charities would survive.

Most importantly, no child would remain worth killing for the inheritance.

Adrian shouted that the money belonged to us.

That sentence decided everything.
