Chapter 14 - The Sovereign Share

Claire walked to the head of the mahogany table, taking her place directly at the center seat reserved for the ultimate authority of the company.

Nathaniel stood firmly right behind her left shoulder like a shadow of steel.

Claire opened her leather folder, placing the authenticated 1954 original deed flat on the glass surface.

"David," Claire called out.

David Miller stepped forward, handing printed copies of the forensic document verification to every board member present.

"As you can see, gentlemen," David explained to the stunned board, "Edward Vance was the co-founder and fifty-percent legal owner of Whitmore Enterprises."

"Upon his death, his shares passed directly to his sole heir, Claire Vance-Whitmore."

"Julian Whitmore never owned those shares."

"His proxy assignment to Victoria Sinclair is completely fraudulent and legally void."

Victoria’s face flushed red with absolute rage.

She slammed her hands flat onto the glass table.

"This is a forgery!" Victoria shrieked, pointing a trembling finger at Claire.

"She was a servant girl wiping floors six months ago!"

"She doesn't know anything about corporate law!"

Claire stood up slowly, looking down at Victoria with cold, calm eyes that held no fear.

"I worked as a servant in my own home because your daughter locked me in a cellar for three years, Victoria," Claire said softly, every word echoing like thunder.

"I survived three years in darkness."

"You think a corporate meeting scares me?"

Claire turned to the board members.

"I move to permanently strip the Sinclair family of all corporate affiliation, dissolve Julian’s proxy, and initiate immediate criminal proceedings against Victoria Sinclair for attempted fraud."

Every single board member raised their hand in unanimous agreement.

"Motion passed," David declared softly.
