Chapter 10 - The Fall of Arrogance

The ballroom doors opened again, and a team of paramedics rushed in carrying a pediatric stretcher.

Dr. Vance, the Whitmore family’s personal physician, moved quickly to Nora’s side.

"Let us take her, Mrs. Hale," Dr. Vance said gently, assessing Lucy’s swollen lip and bloodied mouth. "We’ll get her to the clinic immediately."

Nora nodded, kissing Lucy’s forehead before placing her carefully onto the stretcher.

"I’m coming with you," Nora whispered to her daughter.

As the medical team wheeled Lucy out, Nora turned back to face the man she had once loved.

Daniel looked pathetic. His posture had collapsed, his immaculate tuxedo now looking like a costume on a desperate man.

"Nora, wait," Daniel pleaded, trying to reach for her arm again.

Before his fingers could touch her fabric, two of Charles's security guards stepped between them, locking their arms around Daniel's shoulders and pinning him in place.

"Get your hands off me!" Daniel shouted, struggling against the iron grip. "I am the CEO of Hale Logistics!"

"You were the CEO," Charles corrected coldly. "The board meeting to finalize your removal is scheduled for nine o'clock tomorrow morning. You will be served with a full asset freeze and a restraining order by midnight."

Charles turned his cold gaze toward Celeste Arden.

"And as for the Arden family... your father will receive a personal call from me within the hour. By tomorrow morning, every bank holding your family's debt will demand immediate liquidation."

Celeste gasped, her hand flying to her chest. "You can't do that! It will ruin us!"

"You decided a silver dress was worth striking a child," Charles said quietly. "I decided your entire legacy isn't worth the marble you're standing on."
