Chapter 13 - The Third Transformation

The full moon rose over the Darkwood Forest, casting silver light through the canopy.
Ivy stood in the clearing where she'd first transformed, her body trembling with anticipation.
The wolf inside her was stirring—hungry and impatient.
"Tonight," Ivy whispered. "Tonight I take control."
She'd prepared for this moment.
The ritual required her to face the wolf directly—to challenge her for dominance and win.
But there was a catch.
If she lost, the wolf would take over permanently.
"Ivy," Damian's voice came from the edge of the clearing. "Are you sure about this?"
"I've never been more certain of anything," she replied. "If I don't do this now, I'll never have another chance."
Selene stepped forward, her expression grim. "I'll keep watch. If anything goes wrong..."
"It won't," Ivy interrupted. "I won't let it."
She closed her eyes and reached deep inside herself.
The wolf was waiting.
"So," the golden-eyed beast growled, her voice echoing in the darkness of Ivy's mind. "You've finally come to face me."
"I'm not here to fight you," Ivy replied. "I'm here to help you."
The wolf laughed. "Help me? You want to trap me again."
"I want to give you what you've always wanted," Ivy said. "Freedom. But not at the cost of everything else."
"What are you proposing?"
"An alliance," Ivy replied. "You and I, working together. Your power, my control. We can be stronger than anyone ever imagined."
"You think I'll agree to that?"
"I think you're tired," Ivy said. "Tired of being trapped, tired of being feared, tired of being alone. I'm offering you a chance to be something more."
The wolf was silent for a long moment.
"You're very clever, little wolf," she said finally. "But cleverness won't save you when I decide to take what I want."
"Then let's make a deal," Ivy proposed. "We share this body equally. Your power, my will. Neither of us can act without the other's consent."
"And if I don't agree?"
"Then we both lose," Ivy replied. "You'll be trapped forever, and I'll die trying to contain you. Is that really what you want?"
The wolf considered her offer.
And then, impossibly, she smiled.
"Very well," the beast said. "We have a deal."
The transformation happened in an instant.
Ivy felt the wolf's power flowing through her—not as a curse, but as a gift.
Her body shifted, but instead of the painful transformation she'd experienced before, it felt natural. Right.
When she opened her eyes again, she was standing in the clearing as the Lycan—but in control.
"I did it," she breathed. "I'm in control."
Damian rushed to her side, his face filled with wonder. "Ivy, you're... radiant."
"I feel powerful," she admitted. "More powerful than I've ever felt before."
Selene approached cautiously. "Is the wolf still there?"
May you like
"She's here," Ivy confirmed. "But we've come to an understanding. She'll help me, as long as I don't try to trap her again."
Damian nodded slowly. "Then we have a lot of work to do."
