I Was Fired for a Mistake I Didn’t Make… Then the CEO’s Wife Walked Into My Apartment and Said I Was His REAL Wife

CHAPTER 1 — THE TERMINATION

“You’re fired.”

The words dropped like a hammer.

Emma Collins stood in the glass office of Virelli Tech, staring at her boss like she didn’t hear him right.

“Excuse me?” she said.

Her manager didn’t even look up. “Security will escort you out. Effective immediately.”

Emma laughed once—short, disbelieving. “I closed the Orion account. I saved this company twelve million dollars.”

“And leaked confidential data to a competitor,” he said flatly.

“That’s not true!”

He finally looked at her.

“We have logs. IP trace. Your signature.”

Emma’s stomach sank.

“That’s impossible…”

Two guards appeared behind her.

“Ma’am, please come with us.”

Her co-worker Jason didn’t even meet her eyes.

That hurt more than the firing.

Outside, rain hit her face as she stepped onto the street with a cardboard box.

Her life—five years—fit inside it.

Her phone buzzed.

Unknown number.

UNKNOWN: “Don’t go home.”

Emma frowned.

Before she could reply—

A black car pulled up beside her.

Window rolled down.

A woman in her 40s looked at her calmly.

“Get in,” she said.

Emma stepped back. “Who are you?”

The woman studied her like she already knew her.

“I’m your husband’s wife.”

Emma froze.

“That’s not funny.”

The woman’s expression didn’t change.

“I’m not joking. And you need to come with me… before they erase you completely.”

Emma didn’t get in the car.

But twenty minutes later…

She came home anyway.

Because she had nowhere else to go.

Her apartment door was open.

She never left it open.

Inside, someone was sitting on her couch.

The same woman.

Waiting.

And she said softly:

“I told you… I’m his wife.”

Emma’s blood ran cold.

“What are you talking about?”

The woman placed a folder on the table.

Inside: marriage certificate.

May you like

Signed.

With Emma’s name.
