CHAPTER 3 — THE REAL EMMA

CHAPTER 3 — THE REAL EMMA

Gunfire echoed through the apartment.

Emma crawled behind the kitchen counter.

“WHO ARE THEY?!” she screamed.

The woman checked the hallway.

“People who don’t want you waking up.”

“I AM AWAKE!”

“No,” the woman said. “You’re fragmented.”

Emma shook her head violently.

“This is insane!”

The woman grabbed her arm.

“Then look at me and tell me you don’t recognize this.”

She showed a scar on her wrist.

Emma froze.

She had the same one.

Suddenly—

Memory flashed.

A car crash.

A burning road.

A man yelling her name: “EMMA, STAY WITH ME!”

She gasped.

“No…”

The woman nodded.

“You remember now.”

Emma backed away.

“I don’t understand…”

The woman spoke softly.

“You weren’t just his wife.”

“You were the one who built Virelli Tech.”

Silence.

Another explosion shook the building.

The black suits were inside.

The woman pulled out a key card.

“One last choice,” she said.

“Run… or become who you were before they erased you.”

Emma looked at the burning hallway.

At the attackers.

At her shattered life.

Then she said:

“I’m done running.”

She grabbed the key card.

And walked forward.

FINAL ENDING

The system recognized her instantly.

ACCESS GRANTED

A voice echoed:

“Welcome back… Founder.”

Emma whispered:

“I remember everything now.”

Behind her, the woman smiled.

May you like

“Good. Because they’re coming back.”

And the system rebooted.
