ER Nurse Thought It Was a Simple Infection—Then She Touched His Jaw and Screamed
CHAPTER 1: "It's Just an Infection... Right?"

ER nurse Sarah Collins had seen hundreds of swollen faces.
So when eight-year-old Ethan was rushed in by his terrified mother, she stayed calm.
"Please, help him," Mrs. Parker cried. "His jaw started swelling this morning, and now he can't even talk."
Sarah gently examined the boy.
"Looks like a bad infection," she said. "We'll get antibiotics started."
But when Sarah placed her fingers under Ethan's jaw, she froze.
Something moved.
She pulled her hand back instantly.
"Did... did you feel that?" she whispered to another nurse.
The nurse frowned. "Feel what?"
Sarah touched the swollen area again.
Something shifted beneath Ethan's skin.
And this time, it pushed back.
Sarah's face turned pale.
"Get Dr. Harris. Now."
