CHAPTER 10: THE DINER

Carter's Table was still the same. Chipped coffee mugs. Cracked red booths. The flickering neon sign.

But something had changed.

People started coming from all over the city. Not just for the food—though the food was still good. They came because they'd heard the story.

They came because they wanted to see the woman who had taken down a billion-dollar empire.

They came because they wanted to believe they could do the same.

One afternoon, a young woman walked in. She was crying.

I sat down across from her.

"What's wrong?"

"He hurts me," she said. "My husband. He hurts me, and I don't know what to do."

I took her hand.

"I know what you're going through. I've been there. But you're here, and that's the first step."

She looked up at me.

"Can you help me?"

I smiled.

"Yes. I can."

And I did.

Because I had found my purpose. Not just in saving my daughter, but in helping other women save themselves.
