They Mocked Their Loser Classmate at a Luxury Party—Then They Discovered He Was a Four-Star General
CHAPTER 1: THE MAN EVERYONE MOCKED

"Jake Carter?"
Jake turned as soon as he entered the ballroom of the Grand Riverside Hotel.
Standing before him were several former classmates from high school.
Ryan Mitchell, Emily Foster, Mark Benson, and a few others.
For a brief moment, Jake smiled.
"It's been a long time."
Ryan looked Jake up and down.
Simple clothes.
No expensive watch.
No luxury car keys.
Ryan smirked.
"Wow. You haven't changed at all."
Everyone laughed.
Back in high school, Jake had been the worst student in class. Barely passing every subject, he had often been ridiculed by teachers and classmates.
After graduation, he disappeared.
Nobody knew he had joined the Army.
"So, what are you doing these days?" Ryan asked.
"I'm in the military."
Ryan burst out laughing.
"Military? What rank? Private?"
Jake calmly replied, "I'm an officer."
The entire group laughed even harder.
"Oh, come on, Jake," Ryan said. "You don't need to lie around old friends."
Ryan proudly introduced himself.
"I own three logistics companies now. Business is booming."
Others quickly shared their achievements.
Successful businesses.
Luxury homes.
Executive positions.
Then Ryan looked at Jake again.
"If you're struggling, I can help."
Jake raised an eyebrow.
"Help?"
"We need a parking attendant at one of my offices."
The table erupted in laughter.
Jake remained calm.
"Thanks, but I don't need a job."
Ryan frowned.
"Still pretending? You always had too much pride."
Jake simply smiled.
"I've done alright for myself."
"Really?" Ryan sneered. "How successful?"
Jake answered honestly.
"I'd say I've had a decent career."
"I actually know the host of tonight's event."
Ryan laughed.
"The host? Victor Hayes?"
"Yes."
Ryan almost spilled his drink.
"Sure you do."
Just then, two more classmates arrived.
Mark and Daniel.
Both served in the Army.
Jake greeted them warmly.
"Good to see you guys."
They shook hands.
"So you're really in the Army?" Mark asked.
"Yes."
"What rank?" Daniel asked.
Jake smiled.
"We'll talk later."
After hearing Ryan's version of events, even Mark and Daniel started laughing.
"If Jake were some important officer, we'd know," Daniel said confidently.
Jake said nothing.
He simply sat there while everyone mocked him.
None of them realized they were humiliating the youngest four-star General in the nation's history.
