Chapter 8 - A Second Chance

A year after the pool incident, Ethan opened the Whitmore Foundation.
Its purpose was simple.
Emergency assistance for families facing medical crises.
The first grant went to a single mother whose child needed heart surgery.
Grace attended the ceremony.
Ethan handed her the first foundation certificate.
“This exists because of you.”
Grace shook her head.
“No.”
He smiled.
“Because of the night you jumped.”
She looked at Noah.
The little boy was now walking.
He toddled toward her.
“Grace!”
She laughed.
She knelt.
Noah threw his arms around her.
Ethan watched.
His eyes filled with emotion.
That night, he asked Grace to marry him.
Not with diamonds.
Not with cameras.
Not with a crowd.
Just the two of them beside the pool.
The same pool where everything had almost ended.
Grace stared at the ring.
“I don't know what to say.”
“Yes?”
She laughed.
“Yes.”
May you like
Ethan smiled.
“Good.”
