Chapter 9 - THE SLIDE WITH MY SON’S NAME

The final evidence arrived from Helena’s assistant.

She had prepared Monday’s audit presentation.

Slide 17:

ACCOUNTABILITY WITHOUT EXCEPTIONS.

Three examples.

Senior driver.

Family guest.

LEO BELLUCCI — MINOR HOUSEHOLD MEMBER.

Beside Leo:

Vehicle scratch. Corrective cleaning task. Meal delayed until responsibility satisfied.

No mention that security footage cleared him.

Then speaker notes:

Carmine cannot argue policy is beneath the family if it applies to his own child.

There.

That was the plan.

Not to hurt Leo.

To use him.

Helena wanted an audit room full of professionals to believe the family had a neutral culture of restitution.

Staff claims?

Not exploitation.

Tradition.

Universal.

Even Carmine’s boy participates.

Then another note:

If Carmine objects, remind trustees he historically supported “you break it, you fix it.”

True.

I had said it.

To Leo once after he spilled juice.

He helped me wipe the table.

Two minutes.

No hunger threat.

No fake debt.

Helena planned to use my parenting phrase to legitimize her employment system.

Then the scratch itself.

Her assistant had attached a still photograph of Leo beside the car.

Taken after the cloth was given to him.

No damage visible.

It looked like staged evidence.

Not doctored.

Context removed.

Then I understood exactly why she panicked at the security camera.

The full video destroyed the presentation.

She had built proof.

The garage had built better proof.
