Chapter 13 - LEO AND FOOD

For months after the garage, Leo asked before eating snacks at Villa Bellucci.

“Did I work good?”

That sentence did more damage to me than any lawyer’s report.

His therapist explained:

Do not overreact.

Do not make food a giant emotional ceremony.

Simply reinforce:

Meals are not earned through obedience.

So we did.

Breakfast.

Lunch.

Dinner.

Snacks.

Ordinary.

Then one afternoon Leo spilled milk.

He froze.

Looked at me.

“I clean.”

“You can help.”

“Hungry?”

“You still eat.”

His shoulders relaxed.

That was the healing.
