CHAPTER 11: THE CONVERSATION
I called my sister the next morning.
"Lily asked me about remarrying," I said.
"What did you tell her?"
"That I'm happy. That I don't need anyone else."
"Do you think that's true?"
I paused.
"I don't know," I admitted. "Part of me thinks it would be nice to find someone. Someone who loves me for who I am. Someone who wants to build a life with me. But I'm scared."
"Scared of what?"
"I'm scared of getting hurt again. I'm scared of making another mistake. I'm scared of letting someone into my life who will hurt Lily."
"Sounds like you're not ready yet."
"I think you're right."
"Then wait. When you're ready, you'll know."
