Chapter 5 - The Rescue
The paramedics found her twenty minutes later.
They had to break down the door.

Special Agent Mara Voss was right behind them.
"Claire, we're here."
"Claire, you're going to be okay."
Claire was barely conscious.
The pain was unbearable.
The paramedics lifted her onto a stretcher.
She looked at Mara.
"The documents," she whispered. "In my bag. Don't let them get it."
"I'll take care of it."

Mara grabbed Claire's bag and handed it to another agent.
"Secure that. It's evidence."
Claire was wheeled through the vineyard.
Guests gasped.
Cameras flashed.
Victoria appeared, her face a mask of concern.
"What happened?" she asked innocently.
"Please, let us through," the paramedic said.
Victoria stepped aside, but her eyes were cold.

Evan rushed over.
"Claire! Is she okay?"
"No thanks to you," Mara said.
"Excuse me?"
"You locked her in a bathroom."
"I didn't lock her in anything."
"Then why was the door locked from the outside?"
Evan opened his mouth, then closed it.
"Get out of my way," Mara said.
