Elena couldn’t breathe.
“I didn’t kill anyone…”
The man stepped closer.
“Then watch.”
He played a video.
Elena holding a gun.
Screaming.
A man on the ground.
His face… identical to the man standing in front of her.
Her voice in the recording:
“IF YOU COME BACK AGAIN, I’LL KILL YOU AGAIN.”
Elena dropped the phone.
“No…”
The man watched her carefully.
“That was version one of me.”
“You didn’t survive him.”
Silence.
Then he added softly:
“So they rebuilt me to survive you.”

The man answered:

Suddenly the lights flickered.
A system voice echoed:
“CONTAINMENT FAILURE.”
The man grabbed her wrist.
“They found you again.”
