Chapter 3: The Real Cinderella

Mia stared at her ex, almost laughing through her exhaustion. “Take you back? After you let your girlfriend push me into a pool?”

Jake fell to his knees dramatically. “I was stupid. Blinded by money. You’re the one I’ve always loved.”

Alexander walked in at that moment, carrying fresh clothes for Mia. His expression darkened. “Get out.”

Security dragged Jake away as he screamed apologies and threats.

Two weeks later, at the biggest charity gala of the year, Mia appeared on Alexander’s arm in a stunning emerald gown. The same people who laughed at her now whispered in shock.

Jenna and Jake were there too — disgraced and uninvited, but they snuck in anyway. When they tried to approach Mia, Alexander’s security stopped them.

Mia stepped forward anyway. “I’m not like you two. I won’t destroy you completely. But stay away from me and my family. Forever.”

Jake looked broken. Jenna could only cry.

In the quiet car ride home that night, Alexander kissed Mia’s hand. “Proud of you.”

She smiled, leaning against him. “I used to think love was supposed to hurt. Thank you for showing me it doesn’t.”

Six months later, Mia walked down the aisle in a beautiful ceremony. No more hiding. No more humiliation.

She had found her real happy ending — not as a waitress, not as an heiress, but as someone who was finally loved exactly as she was.
