Chapter 2: The Hidden Truth
Ethan stared at the man claiming to be his father. “You’re lying. My dad left when I was five. He was a drunk who didn’t care.”
Daniel Voss shook his head. “I never stopped caring. Your mother made me promise to stay away until you were ready. I built an empire while watching from afar. Voss Group. I’ve been waiting for this day.”
Ethan laughed bitterly, still wearing his wedding tux. “Great timing. My bride just slapped me and ran off with a rich guy in front of two hundred people.”
Daniel placed a hand on his son’s shoulder. “That humiliation ends today. Come with me.”
Over the next week, Ethan’s world flipped upside down. DNA tests confirmed everything. He wasn’t just Ethan Hayes the mechanic — he was the secret heir to a multi-billion dollar empire. Daniel had kept him hidden to protect him from the cutthroat business world.
Meanwhile, Claire and Kevin were living it up on social media — posting pictures from luxury hotels, mocking Ethan in the captions.
“Some people just can’t handle the big leagues 😂,” Claire wrote under a photo of her new diamond ring.
Ethan sat in his father’s private jet, reading the posts. “They’re laughing at me, Dad.”
Daniel smiled coldly. “Let them. We’re going to the annual Charity Gala next week. The same one Kevin’s family is hosting. Time to show them who you really are.”
At the gala, Ethan walked in wearing a custom tux worth more than most people’s houses. Heads turned immediately.
Claire spotted him first and froze, champagne glass slipping from her fingers. Kevin turned pale.
“Ethan?” Claire stammered, walking over with a fake smile. “What are you doing here? Trying to embarrass yourself again?”
Kevin sneered. “Security should throw this loser out.”
Ethan looked at them calmly, no longer the broken man from the wedding. “You called me trash. Said I was nothing. But here’s the funny part…”
He snapped his fingers. The gala’s host immediately rushed over.
“Mr. Voss, is everything alright?”
Claire’s eyes widened. “Voss…? As in Voss Group?”
Cliffhanger: Kevin laughed nervously. “No way. You’re not—”

Daniel Voss stepped onto the stage and announced loudly, “Ladies and gentlemen, please welcome my son and heir — Ethan Voss.”
The room erupted in gasps. Claire’s face went completely white.
