Chapter 3: The Real Boss

Olivia stood behind her desk, calm and composed in a sharp business suit. Julian stood supportively beside her.

“Children?” Olivia said quietly. “You mean the ones you were raising with money that actually belonged to me?”

Mrs. Harrington sobbed. “We’ll apologize publicly. I’ll say I was wrong. Please don’t ruin us.”

Mr. Harrington looked broken. “Olivia… I was arrogant. I got greedy. I’m sorry.”

Olivia took a deep breath. “I’m not heartless. You’ll both receive a generous severance package — enough to live comfortably. But you will never work in this industry again. And you will never speak my name again.”

After they left, Julian pulled Olivia into his arms.

“You handled that with grace,” he whispered.

“I’m tired of hiding,” she replied, resting her head on his chest. “Tired of letting people like them make me feel small.”

Three months later, Olivia officially became the public CEO of Harrington Global. The company’s stock soared under her leadership.

At the annual shareholder meeting, she stood on stage with Julian by her side — now her official fiancé.

A reporter asked, “Miss Bennett, how does it feel to finally step into the light?”

Olivia smiled. “It feels like freedom.”

Later that evening, as they danced slowly in her penthouse, Julian kissed her forehead.

“You were never the side character, Olivia. You were always the one running the show.”

She looked up at him with soft eyes. “And you were the one who reminded me I didn’t have to do it alone anymore.”
