Chapter 3: The Reaper’s Judgment
Marcus went to war.
Using every connection from his 28 years as a detective, he tore apart Victor’s entire criminal empire. Turns out they weren’t just abusive — they were running an illegal adoption ring, selling babies to rich families.
The trial was explosive. Sophia testified with her father standing right beside her. Victor and Elena received life sentences. Their rich clients were also arrested.
Three weeks later, Sophia gave birth to a healthy baby boy.
She named him Alexander — after her father’s late brother.
In the hospital room, Sophia looked at her father with tears in her eyes. “Thank you for saving us, Dad.”
Marcus gently held his grandson, his hardened face finally softening. “No one will ever hurt you again. Not while I’m breathing.”
A year later, Sophia opened a small café and raised her son in peace. Every weekend, her father would visit, teaching little Alex how to be strong, kind, and protective — everything his father wasn’t.
The Reaper had finally found peace.
