Her Husband Locked Her in the Basement… Until Her Father, The Most Feared Detective, Kicked The Door Down

Chapter 1: The Locked Door

BANG! BANG! BANG!

Fists pounded desperately against the thick basement door.

“Help! Somebody please help me!” Sophia screamed, her voice hoarse.

She was eight months pregnant, barefoot, and wearing only a thin nightgown. Her left eye was swollen shut from the beating she’d received two hours earlier. Fresh bruises covered her arms where her husband had dragged her down the stairs.

The lock clicked. The door opened.

Victor, her husband, stood there with a cold smile. “Still screaming? No one can hear you, sweetheart. This house is soundproofed for a reason.”

Behind him, Victor’s sister, Elena, crossed her arms, smirking. “You should’ve listened to us, Sophia. Trying to run away with our family’s future heir? Pathetic.”

“I just wanted to leave…” Sophia cried, protecting her belly. “Please, let me go.”

Victor laughed. “You’re not going anywhere. You belong to this family now.”

He slammed the door shut again and locked it.

In the darkness, Sophia curled up on the cold floor, tears streaming down her face. With trembling fingers, she pulled out the secret phone she had hidden behind an old pipe and dialed the only person she still trusted.

“Dad…” her voice broke the moment he picked up. “He locked me in the basement. I’m scared… the baby—”

“I’m coming, princess,” a deep, ice-cold voice replied. “Stay alive for me.”

Thirty minutes later, the sound of shattering glass and a loud explosion rocked the mansion.

Victor and Elena rushed upstairs. The front door had been completely kicked off its hinges.

A tall, imposing man in a black leather jacket stepped through the wreckage. His face was covered in scars, and his eyes burned with pure rage.

Detective Marcus Kane — the man once called “The Reaper” in the underworld — had arrived.

“Where is my daughter?” Marcus growled, his voice low and terrifying.

Victor tried to act tough. “This is private property! Get the hell out before I call the police!”

Marcus smiled dangerously. “I am the police.”
