Chapter 2: The Web of Lies
At the military hospital, doctors fought to save both Aria and the baby. Damien refused to leave her side for even a second.
While waiting, he dug into Nathan’s life like a man possessed. What he discovered made his blood boil.
Nathan and Vivian had been systematically abusing Aria for two years. They married her because of the land inheritance her late mother left her — prime real estate worth over 40 million dollars. Their plan was to force a miscarriage, then have Aria declared mentally unstable so they could take everything.
But the biggest shock came when Damien found documents proving Vivian had paid a doctor to secretly drug Aria for months.
“You poisoned my daughter and my grandson?” Damien confronted Vivian in the police station, voice shaking with rage.
Vivian smirked. “Prove it.”
That night, someone tried to sneak into Aria’s hospital room to finish the job. Damien caught the assassin and broke his arm in three places.
“Who sent you?!” he roared.
The man finally confessed: “Mrs. Vivian… she said if the baby is born, it must not survive.”
Aria woke up crying the next morning. “Dad… I’m scared. What if they take my baby?”
