CHAPTER 3 — THE BRIDE WHO WAS NEVER SUPPOSED TO WALK DOWN THE AISLE
CHAPTER 3 — THE BRIDE WHO WAS NEVER SUPPOSED TO WALK DOWN THE AISLE
The wedding hall was full.
Music playing.
Guests smiling.
Emily stood in her dress, frozen.
Daniel stood at the altar, watching her like he already knew the ending.
Claire was nowhere to be seen.
Emily leaned slightly toward Daniel as she walked.
“Tell me who sent it.”
Daniel whispered back, “Someone trying to protect you.”
She scoffed. “By ruining my life?”
He shook his head. “By saving it.”
The priest began speaking.
Emily’s phone buzzed again.
Unknown number.
Final message:
“Look at the guest list.”
She opened it.
Her eyes stopped.
One name repeated.
Over and over.
People who were not supposed to be here.
People listed as “deceased.”
Emily’s breathing broke.
She looked up.
Across the room… several guests were staring at her.
Not smiling anymore.
Not at all.
One of them slowly raised a phone.
And showed her a live recording.
Of her.
From somewhere inside the hotel.
Watching her right now.
Emily whispered:
“…I’m being watched?”
Daniel grabbed her hand.
“Emily—run.”
The lights went out.
Screams filled the hall.
And in the darkness—
May you like
A voice behind her said softly:
“Now you understand why I had to stop the wedding.”
