THEY TRIED TO ROB THE WRONG BANK… AND WOKE UP THE OWNER OF THE GLOBAL FINANCIAL SYSTEM
CHAPTER 1: THE NIGHT THE BANK LOST ITS SECURITY
“Everyone on the ground. Now.”
The shout exploded through the marble lobby of Helix International Bank.
Gunmetal reflections flashed under crystal chandeliers as five masked men stormed in.
Customers screamed.
Phones dropped.
Guards froze before they even reached their holsters.
The leader fired a shot into the ceiling.
“Open the vault or we start picking people.”
A woman cried near the entrance.
A man dropped to his knees immediately.
Total control.
Except for one person.
At the far end of the lobby, behind a marble pillar, stood a bank clerk in a plain gray suit.
Evan Reed.
He did not run.
He did not raise his hands.
He just watched.
One of the robbers noticed him.
“Hey. You. Move.”
Evan blinked slowly.
“I am working.”
The robber laughed.
“You’re working right now?”
He walked over and grabbed Evan by the collar.
“Open the vault system.”
Evan looked at him.
Calm.
“You are not authorized.”
The robber punched the counter beside him.
“Try me.”
Silence.
Then Evan slowly reached for the terminal.
Typed once.
The screen flickered.
Then changed.
ACCESS LEVEL UPDATE PENDING
The robber frowned.
“What is this”
Evan answered quietly.
“Bank hierarchy check.”
Another robber shouted.
“Forget him. Blow the door.”
But before they could move, every security door in the building clicked shut.
One by one.
Lockdown engaged.
The leader froze.
“What just happened”
Evan tilted his head slightly.
“You triggered internal response protocol.”
The leader pointed the gun at him.
“You are just a clerk.”
Evan nodded.
“Yes.”
May you like
A pause.
“And also the person who built the system you are standing inside.”
