Part 3 — The Truth Behind Victoria Vance

By noon, Victoria arrived at Sterling Tower.

She walked through the lobby wearing a white designer suit, surrounded by confidence.

She believed she still had control.

She believed Arthur was emotional.

She believed he would forgive her.

She had built her entire life on one assumption:

People with money always protected their reputation.

She was wrong.

Arthur was waiting in the private conference room.

The same room where he had signed business deals worth billions.

Victoria smiled.

"Arthur, I know last night looked terrible, but we both know accidents happen."

Arthur said nothing.

She continued.

"Lily is traumatized. She needs stability. She needs me."

Arthur slowly placed a tablet on the table.

"Before we discuss stability, I want you to watch something."

Victoria’s smile disappeared.

Arthur pressed play.

The security footage appeared.

No music.

No dramatic editing.

Just the truth.

Victoria watched herself push a child.

Her own face betrayed her.

For the first time in years, she had no prepared expression.

"No..."

Arthur leaned forward.

"You weren't saving my family."

Victoria looked at him.

"You don't understand."

"No," Arthur replied. "I understand perfectly."

She stood.

"You need me, Arthur."

The desperation entered her voice.

"Everyone knows what I did for you. Everyone knows I helped Lily."

Arthur looked at her with disappointment.

"That was the biggest mistake you made."

Victoria frowned.

"What?"

"You thought people loved you because of who you were."

He picked up another document.

"They loved the person you pretended to be."

Michael entered the room.

Behind him were investigators.

Police officers.

And a woman Arthur never expected to see again.

Eleanor Sterling’s former assistant.

"Arthur..."

The woman looked nervous.

"I found something before Eleanor died."

The room became silent.

Arthur slowly turned.

"My wife's death?"

The assistant nodded.

"She suspected Victoria."

Victoria’s face went pale.

Two years ago, Eleanor had been preparing documents about Victoria’s financial manipulation.

But Eleanor died before she could expose her.

Everyone believed it was a tragic accident.

Until now.

Arthur looked at Victoria.

"You didn't enter my life because you loved me."

Victoria said nothing.

"You entered my life because Eleanor discovered what you were doing."

The truth finally surfaced.

Victoria Vance wasn't a grieving widow's friend.

May you like

She wasn't Lily's protector.

She was a woman who had spent years building a perfect image while destroying everyone around her.
