The wedding was forgotten.

Everyone gathered in a private room.

Ethan unfolded the letter.

His hands shook.

The letter read:

"To my daughters,

If you're reading this, someone finally found the truth."

Tears filled Amelia's eyes.

Olivia stared at the floor.

The letter continued.

"I never abandoned either of you."

The room froze.

"What?" Ethan whispered.

"I was forced to disappear."

Amelia covered her mouth.

The letter explained everything.

Twenty-three years earlier, their biological father had been involved in financial crimes.

Powerful people wanted evidence hidden.

The twins became part of a custody battle.

Someone paid officials to separate them.

Someone forged records.

Someone erased Amelia from the system.

Olivia looked up.

"It wasn't me."

For the first time all day, she sounded sincere.

Amelia frowned.

"What are you saying?"

Olivia began crying.

"I was a child."

Everyone stared.

"I didn't know you existed until three years ago."

Silence.

Amelia's anger slowly faded.

"Then who did all this?"

A voice answered from the doorway.

"I did."

Everyone turned.

Olivia's adoptive father stood there.

His face was gray.
