PART 3: THE MAN WHO STOPPED BEING THE OWNER

Outside, I watched the hotel windows.
Floor by floor, the lights shifted.
Security protocols engaged.
Internal lockdowns initiated.

My father’s voice returned through the phone.

“All properties are now syncing to the central ownership registry.”

I exhaled slowly.

“Good.”

Inside, Marcus finally tried to leave.

The doors didn’t respond.

“Open them,” he ordered the security guards.

One guard scanned his badge. Nothing.
A second guard tried. Same result.

The front-desk manager approached cautiously.

“Sir… your access privileges have been revoked.”

Marcus blinked, stunned.

“Excuse me?”

“I’m sorry,” she said quietly. “We’re under new executive command.”

His smile vanished completely.

“New command?” he repeated, voice rising.

“Yes,” she replied. “From ownership.”

Marcus spun around sharply.

“Call Isabella. Now.”

No one moved.

He shouted louder, “CALL HER!”

But every employee in the lobby looked away.

They already knew what Marcus had not yet accepted.

Isabella was no longer the one standing outside.

She was the one giving the orders.
