CHAPTER 2: THE SECRET HUSBAND
Daniel hired the best private investigator in Chicago.
Within days, the investigator uncovered something impossible.
"Sarah Collins doesn't exist."
Daniel stared.
"What?"
"The Social Security number is fake. The birth records are fake. Everything is fake."
Daniel immediately confronted the man claiming to be Sarah's husband.
"My wife lost her memory," the man said calmly. "I saved her life."
Daniel wasn't convinced.
That night, Daniel secretly visited Emma at the hospital.
"Do you remember this?" he asked, showing her their wedding video.
Emma began crying.
"I don't know why... but I know that man in the video loves me."
Suddenly, the hospital room door burst open.
The other husband stormed inside.
"You need to stay away from my wife!"
Security was called.
As Daniel was escorted out, Emma screamed.
"Wait!"
Everyone stopped.
Emma looked terrified.
"I just remembered something."
"What?" Daniel asked.
Emma's entire body trembled.
"The night of the boat accident... someone pushed me."
Silence.
Daniel whispered, "Who?"
