MY HUSBAND MOVED HIS PREGNANT MISTRESS INTO OUR HOUSE... HE DIDN'T KNOW THE HOUSE BELONGED TO ME

CHAPTER 1: "SHE'S MOVING IN"

"She's pregnant, Ava. She has nowhere else to go."

Ava Thompson stared at her husband, Noah, convinced she had heard him wrong.

"What did you just say?"

Noah sighed dramatically, like she was the unreasonable one.

"Claire is seven months pregnant. Her landlord kicked her out."

Ava slowly stood up from the kitchen table.

"And why exactly is your pregnant mistress your responsibility?"

Noah didn't even flinch.

"Because the baby's mine."

Silence.

Absolute silence.

After fourteen years of marriage, that was how Ava found out her husband had been cheating.

Their sixteen-year-old daughter, Lily, walked into the kitchen just in time to hear everything.

"Dad?" she whispered.

Noah looked uncomfortable.

"Lily, sweetheart, adults make mistakes."

"Mistakes?" Lily shouted. "You cheated on Mom!"

Noah rubbed his forehead.

"Lower your voice."

Ava couldn't believe it.

"You brought your daughter into this mess and you're worried about volume?"

Noah crossed his arms.

"Look, Claire needs help. Just for a few months."

Ava laughed.

"You want your mistress to move into my house?"

"Our house," Noah corrected.

Ava stared at him.

"Our house?"

Noah nodded confidently.

"We're married. Everything here belongs to both of us."

Before Ava could respond, the front door opened.

A beautiful brunette walked in carrying two suitcases.

Behind her was Noah's mother, Diane.

"Oh good," Diane said cheerfully. "You're all here."

Ava nearly choked.

"You knew?"

Diane shrugged.

"Claire is carrying my grandchild. Family comes first."

Lily burst into tears and ran upstairs.

Claire awkwardly smiled.

"I'm really sorry about all this."

"No, you're not," Ava replied.

Noah immediately defended Claire.

"Stop being cruel."

Ava looked around the room.

Her cheating husband.

His mistress.

His mother.

All standing in her kitchen.

Then Noah delivered the final insult.

"Actually, Claire will be taking the master bedroom. Stress isn't good for the baby."

Ava felt something inside her break.

Without another word, she walked upstairs.

Noah smirked.

"See? She'll calm down."

Twenty minutes later, Ava came back downstairs carrying a folder.

She placed it on the table.

Noah barely looked at it.

"What's this?"

"Ownership documents."

Noah frowned.

"For what?"

Ava smiled for the first time all day.

"For this house."

Noah opened the folder.

His face instantly turned white.
