Chapter 15 - The Livestream Trap

Clara and Sienna devised a controlled meeting after Sienna received a message from Richard asking her to come home and 'fix what she started.' With investigators listening, Sienna met their parents in the family mansion and resumed a livestream supposedly to apologize publicly.

Richard relaxed when he saw the viewer count climbing.

He bragged that Clara's career could not save her from documents that looked official.

Clara kept her voice controlled because anger was exactly what the people around her expected to use against her.

Valerie told him to stop talking.

He kept going.

Clara kept her voice controlled because anger was exactly what the people around her expected to use against her.

Then Sienna asked who had ordered Price to arrest Clara before the trust hearing.

Richard answered, 'I did.' The livestream exploded.

Clara kept her voice controlled because anger was exactly what the people around her expected to use against her.

Police entered seconds later.

"Tell me the part you left out," Clara said.

No one answered immediately.

"That silence is an answer," she said.

The room seemed to tighten around them.

Clara had spent years following money through false names and polished paperwork.

She knew fraud rarely collapsed because of one dramatic confession.

It collapsed because liars eventually created more details than they could keep consistent.

This case was beginning to fracture exactly that way.

Before the day ended, another preserved record contradicted the version her family had repeated publicly.

Clara read it twice.

Then she looked up.

"Now we know where to go next."

And the next morning, someone who was supposed to be safe disappeared.
