My Cheating Husband And His Mistress Tried To Kill Our Unborn Child… Until My Father, The Army Ranger Legend, Came Home

Chapter 1: Blood On The Nursery Floor

The slap echoed through the half-finished nursery like a whip.

Lila hit the ground hard, her hands instinctively wrapping around her six-month pregnant belly. Pain shot through her ribs.

“You’re keeping it? After I told you to get rid of it?” her husband Derek snarled, standing over her with clenched fists.

In the corner, his mistress, Brooke — the young blonde who used to be Lila’s yoga instructor — crossed her arms and smirked. “I warned you she was too pathetic to listen, babe.”

Lila gasped for air. “Derek… this is our baby… please…”

Brooke stepped forward and kicked a box of baby clothes across the room. “It’s not his baby if I say it’s not. We have plans, and a screaming kid doesn’t fit into them.”

Derek grabbed Lila by the hair. “You embarrass me one more time and I’ll make sure neither of you walk out of here. Brooke’s already carrying my real child anyway.”

Lila’s eyes widened in shock. “You’ve been sleeping with her… in our bed?”

Brooke laughed coldly. “For eight months now. He was never really yours.”

That night, while Derek and Brooke drank wine downstairs, Lila locked herself in the bathroom and made the call with bloody fingers.

“Dad… it’s Lila,” she whispered, voice breaking. “Derek and his girlfriend just beat me. They want the baby gone. I’m scared… I don’t know what to do.”

The line was quiet for a second before a deep, steady voice answered — the voice of Colonel Marcus Reed, the legendary Army Ranger who raised her alone after her mother died.

“Stay alive, sweetheart. Lock the doors if you can. I’m already on a plane. They just messed with the wrong man’s daughter.”

The next morning, the mansion’s front door was kicked off its hinges.

Colonel Reed stepped inside in his worn tactical jacket, eyes scanning the room like a battlefield. Derek and Brooke were eating breakfast like nothing happened.

“Where’s my daughter?” Reed demanded, voice low and deadly.

Derek stood up fast. “You can’t just break in here! I’ll call the cops!”

Reed crossed the room in three strides and slammed Derek against the wall. “Call them. While you’re at it, tell them why my pregnant daughter is covered in bruises.”

Brooke screamed, “Security! Get this psycho out!”

Lila appeared at the top of the stairs, holding her side in pain. “Dad…?”

Reed’s hard face softened when he saw her. “I’m here now, baby. It’s over.”
