CHAPTER 4 — THE WOMAN HE WAS BUILT FOR
The building shook.
Emergency lights turned red.
Victoria stood calmly in the chaos.
“This is why I hate prototypes,” she said.
Adrian pulled Olivia toward the exit.
But she stopped.
“Tell me the truth,” she said.
Adrian looked at her.
Then said it.
“You didn’t just see me die.”
“You were the reason I was rebuilt.”
Olivia froze.
“…What?”
Victoria stepped forward.
“Adrian wasn’t rebuilt randomly.”
“He was rebuilt for you.”
Silence.
Olivia whispered:
“I don’t know you.”
Adrian’s voice broke slightly.
“That’s the problem.”
“You were supposed to remember me.”
---
Suddenly, the system locked all exits.
A voice echoed:
“PRIMARY SUBJECT AWAKENING DETECTED.”
Victoria sighed.
“She’s waking up too fast.”
Adrian turned to Olivia.
“There was a relationship before this life.”
Olivia shook her head.
“I don’t remember anything!”
Adrian said softly:
“Because they removed me from your memory after I died the first time.”
Victoria added:
“And now the system is correcting the error.”
Olivia looked at both of them.
“Then what am I supposed to be?!”
Adrian answered:
“The one who decides whether I stay alive… or become what I was meant to be.”

The lights exploded.
