“You really thought you mattered here?”
Laughter erupted around the table.

“I’m not an intern,” I said quietly.
Richard waved his hand.
“Same thing. Disposable.”

He tapped the table.
“You’re fired. Effective immediately.”
Someone laughed.
“Bro’s life just ended.”
I looked around.
No one cared.
Not a single person.
Then I asked one question.
“Do you know what I uploaded last night?”
Richard rolled his eyes.
“I don’t care.”
