THEY FIRED HIM FOR BEING “USELESS”… THEN THE ENTIRE DEFENSE SYSTEM SHUT DOWN AT HIS COMMAND

CHAPTER 1

“Terminate him.”

The order came without hesitation.

The conference room inside Aegis Defense Technologies was silent except for the hum of encrypted servers beneath the floor.

Ethan Cole stood alone at the center of a glass circle while twenty executives watched him like he was a broken tool being discarded.

The CEO did not even look up from the tablet.

“No skills worth retaining. No field success. No strategic value.”

A few executives nodded.

One of them chuckled.

“He barely passed onboarding.”

Another leaned forward.

“Honestly, I don’t even know why he was hired.”

Ethan did not speak.

He just listened.

That was what he always did.

The HR director slid a document across the table.

“Sign this. Severance is already processed.”

Ethan looked down at the paper.

Employee termination agreement.

Loss of all system access.

Immediate removal from classified infrastructure.

He took the pen.

Signed.

One line.

Then another.

The room relaxed instantly.

The CEO exhaled.

“Finally.”

A junior engineer smirked.

“Back to nothing, I guess.”

Ethan placed the pen down carefully.

Then he spoke for the first time.

“That’s interesting.”

Everyone looked at him.

The CEO frowned.

“What is”

Ethan pointed at the document.

“You think this removes me from the system.”

A pause.

“But it actually confirms something else.”

The HR director scoffed.

“You are delusional. Leave the building.”

Ethan nodded slightly.

“I will.”

He turned toward the exit.

Then stopped.

And added quietly.

“You should check your core network before I do.”

A few laughs followed behind him.

Security escorted him out.

The doors closed.

And the room returned to normal.

For exactly seven seconds.

Then every screen in the building turned black.

A single line appeared.

UNKNOWN ADMINISTRATOR DETECTED

The CEO froze.

“What is this”

The chief engineer rushed forward.

“This is impossible. There is no admin above executive level.”

Then another alert appeared.

PRIMARY DEFENSE GRID OFFLINE

The entire room went silent.

Outside the building, sirens began to ring.

Not fire alarms.

May you like

Military alarms.

The CEO’s phone rang.
