One of them grabbed her handbag.

"Nobody's coming," the leader sneered.
Emily struggled, kicking wildly.
"Leave me alone!"
The leader laughed.
"You're pretty. This won't take long."
Before anyone could move again, a voice came from the alley entrance.
"Let her go."
A tall young man stepped into the dim light.
Simple jeans.
White shirt.
No bodyguards.
No fear.
The leader laughed.
"One hero against four?"
The stranger answered calmly.
"Four cowards against one woman."
Without another word, he charged.
The first thug hit the wall.
The second dropped after a punch.
But numbers won.
A steel pipe crashed into the young man's back.
Another blow landed on his shoulder.
He kept fighting until three men tackled him to the ground.
Emily cried out.
"Stop! Please!"
The leader kicked the young man in the ribs.
"Tie him up."
Within seconds his hands were bound.
Blood trickled from his forehead.
Emily tried to crawl toward him.
"Why would you do this?"
The young man smiled despite the pain.
"Because... nobody should be left alone."
The leader smirked.
"Congratulations."
"Now both of you are ours."
