SHE WAS SLAPPED WHILE PREGNANT… THEN THE DOCTOR TOUCHED HER FACE AND HIT THE EMERGENCY BUTTON OUT OF PURE FEAR

SHE WAS SLAPPED WHILE PREGNANT… THEN THE DOCTOR TOUCHED HER FACE AND HIT THE EMERGENCY BUTTON IN FEAR

I never thought a normal night in Monterrey would turn into my worst nightmare.

My name is Jason Miller. My wife, Emily Carter, is seven months pregnant with our baby boy, Leo.

Emily is kind and gentle, but her aunt Victoria Brooks never accepted me because I wasn’t rich enough.

That night, it was raining heavily. Emily was in the kitchen making quesadillas while I built the crib.

Then someone started pounding on the door.

BANG. BANG. BANG.

I opened it.

Victoria stormed in, soaked and furious.

Before I could stop her, she pushed past me into the kitchen.

“You ungrateful girl!” she screamed.

Emily froze.

“Aunt Victoria… please leave.”

That’s when Victoria slapped her.

The sound echoed through the room.

Emily stumbled back, holding her belly.

“DON’T TALK TO ME LIKE THAT!” Victoria shouted.

I immediately pushed her out and locked the door.

I turned back.

“Emily?”

She didn’t answer.

Then she collapsed.

I caught her before she hit the floor.

“Emily! Wake up!”

Her skin was pale… then I saw it.

The slap mark turned dark purple instantly.

I picked her up and rushed to the hospital.

“Help! Pregnant woman unconscious!”

They rushed her inside.

Dr. Ethan Collins arrived.

“How far along?”

“Seven months.”

“She was slapped,” I said. “Then she collapsed.”

He touched her cheek.

And instantly pulled his hand back like he was burned.

His face changed completely.

Fear.

He hit the emergency button.

ALARM. LOCKDOWN THE ROOM!

“NO ONE IN OR OUT!”

Security pulled me outside.

“WHAT’S HAPPENING TO HER?!” I shouted.

The doors closed.

Inside, doctors covered her body with a thermal blanket.

Emily unconscious.

My unborn son still inside her.

And the doctors looking at her like something had just gone terribly wrong.

I stood frozen in the hallway, shaking.

Because one question kept repeating in my head:

What did they see on her face… that made them so afraid?
