CHAPTER 2: THE BROTHER NOBODY KNEW
CHAPTER 2: THE BROTHER NOBODY KNEW
The funeral was held three days later.
Victoria attended out of respect.
She expected awkwardness.
She didn't expect another Ethan.
The entire church gasped as a man walked inside.
Same height.
Same face.
Same voice.
Even Victoria almost dropped her purse.
The stranger looked equally shocked.
"You must be Ethan."
Ethan stared.
"You knew about me?"
The man nodded.
"My name is Ryan Hale."
Hours later, the family attorney revealed the truth.
Thirty-eight years earlier, Ethan's father had secretly fathered twins.
A bitter custody battle followed.
One child stayed with the wealthy Cole family.
The other disappeared with his mother.
Ryan had grown up poor in Detroit.
He never knew who his father was until six months earlier.
Victoria slowly sat down.
"Then the photo..."
Ryan lowered his head.
"It was me."
The room exploded.
Victoria stared.
"What?"
Ryan looked ashamed.
"A woman approached me three months ago. She offered me two million dollars to impersonate Ethan."
Ethan nearly lunged across the table.
"Who?"
Ryan swallowed.
"I never saw her face."
Victoria suddenly froze.
Only one person knew enough about Ethan's schedule, habits, and marriage.
Chloe.
At that exact moment, Ethan's phone rang again.
His CFO was screaming.
May you like
"Ethan, someone's draining the company accounts!"
